Christopher T. Suan has been a credit investor for over 20 years and is the Founder and Managing Member of Suan Capital Advisors, LLC. Before he started Suan Capital, Mr. Suan was President of D.B. Zwirn International, where he established Zwirn’s secured lending group, personally overseeing $1 billion in U.S. loans.  He opened all nine of the firm’s Asia offices and oversaw $1.5 billion in European, Asian and Latin American investments.  Prior to Zwirn, Mr. Suan was a managing director at Bank of America where he managed $250 million in collateralized bond obligations.

 

Stephen C. Merchant is currently a Principal of Suan Capital Advisors, LLC.  He has provided strategic advice to a broad range of financial services, energy and real estate clients. Mr. Merchant has significant mergers and acquisitions execution experience and has participated in multiple debt, equity and equity-linked offerings.  He has sourced, structured and advised on various transactions, arrangements and capital raises while at UBS Investment Bank, Merrill Lynch and Berenson & Company.  He is a Certified Public Accountant and was formerly a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Varun Maithel is currently an Associate of Suan Capital Advisors, LLC. Prior to joining the firm he was an Analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers, where he worked on a range of transactions including mergers & acquisitions, financial sponsor investments, debt financings, equity offerings and other specialized solutions.  Mr. Maithel graduated cum laude from Columbia University, where he received a B.S. in Computer Science.
